The BL6 Student Union is the student representative body that has the following aims:

  • To represent the students actively in all matters concerning their education.
  • To seek representation on school bodies that deal with student issues.
  • To promote the social and general welfare of students.
  • To encourage student participation in all aspects of Sixth Form life, for example, societies, extra-curricular activities, community involvement and affiliations to the NUS.
  • To oppose discrimination and promote equal opportunities.
  • Through the activities of the Student Union, to promote active citizenship and community cohesion.

Elections take place in the Spring term for the Student Union.

The Student Union members for the 2016/2017 academic year are as follows:

  • Vice President: Tobias Parkes
  • Welfare Officer: Tegan Shaw
  • Education Officer: Keve McNeill
  • Activities/Fundraising Office: Lois Blakeman
